Lunch debate with Secretary of State for Tourism - Algarve

04 Abril, 2017

The Secretary of State for Tourism, Mrs. Ana Mendes Godinho will be guest speaker at a lunch-debate organized by the Britsh Chamber of Commerce to be held in the Algarve on the 4th April.

Many of the members in the Algarve have a direct or indirect reliance on tourism, and with seasonal fluctuations still being the region’s main concern, knowing exactly how government supports and promotes this sector is of vital importance to all working and living in this nationally important area.

Many studies suggest that there are ample opportunities to promote the region beyond it’s general perception as a “summertime" holiday destination. It’s business community continues to strive in promoting its year-round attractions. However, there is concern that the “Algarve voice” does not get the hearing it warrants in Lisbon’s corridors of power and that more could and should be done to assist this economically vital region for the good of Portugal as a whole.

In a bid to encourage close and privileged dialogue with the sector we are delighted to announce that the Secretary of State for Tourism, Dr.ª Ana Mendes Godinho, has agreed to be guest speaker at a lunch-debate where she will take you through the “365 Algarve Program”, the plan for the 365 days of the year that includes actions to promote out of season tourism, and will also explain the financial support and incentives for foreign investors as well as for those who already live in Portugal.

Lunch will take place at the Hilton Vilamoura and the prices will be € 28 + IVA for Chamber members and € 38 + IVA for non-members.

ANJE – Associação Nacional de Jovens Empresários and the French Chamber will also collaborate in the initiative. Please subscribe via a.silva@bpcc.pt
