orange experience @dona ajuda
We hope you’re enjoying the summer! We are already looking forward to reconnect with you at the CCPH Lunch in collaboration with the Dutch Association of Lisbon at Dona Ajuda on September 29th.
Inspired by our beloved Dutch tradition of the "vrijmarkt"—where everyone brings treasures from their attic to sell in a free market for a good cause—we are excited to replicate this spirit at Dona Ajuda. This event is a wonderful opportunity to declutter, share, and support a great cause, turning our preloved items into new possibilities. Let’s celebrate community, sustainability, and generosity—Dutch style—in the heart of Lisbon. Join us for lunch, a guided tour, and a chance to contribute to Dona Ajuda’s impactful work helping 2,368 families annually. Don’t forget to bring something from your attic that you no longer need!
TOUR & LUNCH IN DONA AJUDA: A CHARITY ORGANISATION IN THE CENTRE OF LISBON
Dona Ajuda embodies the spirit of community and resilience in Lisbon. Established as a non-profit initiative, it operates from the Mercado do Rato, where it transforms donated items into opportunities for those in need. This vibrant space is not just a shop but a hub of compassion, where every item sold contributes to helping over 1,600 families each year.
The mission of Dona Ajuda extends beyond mere commerce; it seeks to create a better world through social, environmental, and cultural initiatives. By promoting the idea that poverty is a temporary situation rather than a permanent state, Dona Ajuda empowers individuals to reclaim their dignity and pursue their dreams.
In addition to providing affordable goods, Dona Ajuda fosters cultural engagement by hosting workshops, art exhibitions, and community events. This approach not only enriches the lives of those who visit but also strengthens the bonds within the community.
Through its commitment to sustainability and social justice, Dona Ajuda stands as a beacon of hope, illustrating how collective efforts can lead to meaningful change. We will start with a nice guided tour to learn more about the initiative of Dona Ajuda, then followed by a special festive lunch. What better way to get ready for the holiday season than fraternizing and celebrate!
