We are proud to see also many of our member companies are contributing to society in these difficult times. Although we are not aware of all ongoing initiatives, we would like to share those that we were informed about:
Insurance company Ageas is contributing in various areas to support society in these challenging times. It is currently involved, among other, in producing face masks for elderly homes and other care institutions. Via their Foundation, Ageas launched an initiative SOS Vizinho together with other companies, for volunteers to call on elderly or chronically ill people to ensure essential needs are fulfilled.
Central Cervejas undertook several initiatives, one is to support the horeca channel by stimulating people to buy vouchers for future consumption. Their foundation Luso offered a million bottles of water to front line workers. Their beer brand Bohemia distributed lunches to health care staff at Easter.
EQS produces and donates mouth masks
Grandvision collaborates in an action to provide computers to children in order to gain access to online school lessons in Portugal. It is estimated that 5% of children does not have access to computers or internet. Meanwhile over 2.900 computers have been distributed.
Estrela Borough is taking care of its community developing several initiatives from distributing food, providing online learning and sports to disinfecting the roads. In addition, the borough launched a campaign called Solidarity Box, where people can leave essential goods for those in need.
