Our Chamber of Commerce is deeply saddened to announce the death of our former board member José Miguel Leonardo, who passed away on June 2, 2026, at the age of 64 after a prolonged illness.
A native of Elvas, Portugal, José Miguel was a distinguished business leader who served as CEO of Randstad Portugal for approximately a decade. Prior to that, he held executive positions at Stanley Black & Decker and Dow Chemical Company in Portugal and abroad. His career was marked by exceptional leadership in management and corporate governance.
Beyond his professional achievements, José Miguel made significant contributions to associative and social activities throughout his life. We were grateful that José Miguel was part of our Board for many years and his dedication to community engagement and cross-border cooperation left a lasting impact.
