Executive students of Health Management visit Portugal - kick off
This week we receive a group of executive students in Health from TIAS business school. And for the first time since long, we finally are able to meet in person again, which provided for an extra dimension of happiness to the program of today. We were fortunate to be able to host the session in the beautiful Palace of Sottomayor, that was kindly made available to us by our member PwC.
The week started with a Masterclass on the Portuguese Healthcare System with Prof. Adalberto Campos Fernandes, former Minister of Health and two of his invited guest speakers: former minister of Health Maria de Belem and economist and health care specialist José Mendes Ribeiro.
Aim of the study week is to understand the Portuguese health care system and discuss the differences, advantages and disadvantages of the different systems, when compared to the Dutch system. During the presentations among other the importance of prevention, digitalisation, equality, EU collaboration and the Human Right approach were discussed.
We would like to thank Prof. Adalberto Campos Fernandes, Drª. Maria de Belem and Dr. José Mendes Ribeiro for their much appreciated input and PwC for the hospitality.
