Today marked the kickoff of the international study trip for the Executive Health Management students from TIAS School for Business and Society.
The day began at PwC with a very interesting presentation with Professor Pedro Pita Barros from NOVA SBE, about the Portuguese Health system.
We extend our sincere thanks to PwC and our board member, Leendert Verschoor, for generously hosting us and sponsoring the coffee break, which provided a great opportunity for networking midway through the session.
The sessions covered key topics including the design of the Portuguese healthcare system, the balance between public and private sectors, along with its advantages and challenges, and the growing importance of value-based healthcare. Discussions also explored developments at both national and international levels, stakeholder mediation, system transformation in healthcare, and emerging data models, particularly the role of real-world evidence in supporting decision-making.
The morning concluded with an engaging Q&A session, allowing participants to further explore the topics discussed and exchange perspectives.
A special thank you to Prof. Pedro Pita Barros and PWC.
