Flashback: CCPH Members Innovation Tour at Unicorn Factory Lisbon

Yesterday, around 40 CCPH members joined us for a special Innovation Tour & Lunch at the Unicorn Factory Lisboa Beato Hub — an initiative envisioned by the Lisbon City Council to strengthen Lisbon’s entrepreneurial ecosystem from startups to scaleups, and eventually unicorns.

The Unicorn Factory acts as an engine for economic growth and a driving force for innovation, attracting talent, new projects, and investment. Its platform of programs and hubs, inspired by international best practices, supports startups and scaleups in creating solid products and business models, developing efficient processes, and achieving sustained accelerated growth from Lisbon.

Our visit began with a behind-the-scenes tour of the Beato Hub, where the Unicorn Factory team shared insights into their programs and how they help companies scale. Our members — and we ourselves — were impressed by the work being done, the scale being reached, and the connections being made. In fact, the Financial Times recently highlighted how Portugal is increasingly attracting startups that want not only to launch, but also to scale, with 17 unicorn companies moving to Lisbon since 2022.

After the tour, we gathered for lunch at A Praça, a vibrant spot in the heart of Beato known for its Portuguese cuisine and high-quality local products. The welcoming atmosphere made it the perfect setting to relax, network, and enjoy great conversation with fellow CCPH members.

Whether you’re curious about Lisbon’s startup ecosystem, interested in innovation, or looking to connect with other members, this event was an unmissable opportunity to combine learning, networking, and memorable moments. It was an excellent way to explore one of Lisbon’s most dynamic innovation hubs and engage directly with the Unicorn Factory Lisboa team.

Thank you José, Caroline and Mariana from Unicorn Factory!
