Impact Circle: Wrapping Up 2025 & Launching the 2026 Theme

As 2025 comes to a close, we look back on a powerful year in the Impact Circle, where we explored the pivotal role of land in shaping sustainable futures. From land ownership and stewardship to circular land use and climate adaptation, we’ve unpacked how the ground beneath our feet connects to the systems that sustain us. A special thank-you to our hosts, Alexander Griekspoor and Wouter Heijnen, and to all our speakers, including those who helped us dive deeper through projects like LandOS.

2026 Theme: Construction & Sustainability

From what we build, to how we live and work. In 2026, we shift our focus to one of the most impactful, and most transformative, sectors of all: construction. The buildings we live and work in shape our lives, our communities, and our planet. The choices we make today will define the physical and social infrastructure of tomorrow. This season of the Impact Circle will explore how we can reimagine construction, housing, and workspace design through the lens of sustainability, innovation, and impact.

We’ll look at:

•     Circular building materials and supply chains

•     Sustainable architecture and adaptive reuse

•     Community-led development and affordable housing

•     Innovative workplace models and healthy work environments

Together, we’ll uncover how construction can be more than bricks and budgets, it can be a tool for social and ecological regeneration.

Season Kick-Off – Early February 2026

The first session will launch in early February. Alexander and Wouter will introduce the 2026 theme and preview the four upcoming sessions, each diving into a unique aspect of sustainability in the built environment. Expect engaging guest speakers, new perspectives, and, as always, time to connect and reflect.

Upcoming 2026 Sessions:

1- Building Materials & Circular Supply Chains: How do we source and use materials responsibly, from cradle to cradle? We’ll look at timber, earth, reused materials, and the systems that make circular construction possible.

2-Spaces that Heal: Sustainable Architecture & Design: How can buildings support human and planetary health? We’ll explore biophilic design, passive houses, and architecture that adapts to climate and context.

3-Rethinking Home: Housing, Affordability & Community: From co-housing and modular homes to regeneration projects, this session looks at how housing models can serve communities, not just markets.

4-Work, Workspaces & the Future of Productivity: The pandemic changed how we work—but what comes next? We’ll explore inspiring models of workspaces built for collaboration, wellbeing, and sustainability.

What is the Impact Circle?

The Impact Circle is a space for connection, inspiration, and innovation. Hosted by members of CCPH, it brings together change makers from Portugal, the Netherlands, and beyond. We meet regularly online (via Teams), with occasional in-person gatherings, to learn, share, and grow. Each session includes guest speakers, conversation, and space for informal networking—because impact happens when people connect.

The sessions are open to all (aspiring) CCPH members. If you or someone in your organisation would like to receive invitations, sign up to be part of the Impact Circle.
Let’s continue shaping a sustainable, circular, and inspiring 2026, together.

We are proud to announce that The Impact Circle will be run by two of our members:

Alex Griekspoor | LandOs / Boardmember CCPH

Wouter Heijnen | Innovation advisor/ founder Circular Hub Algarve
