KLM celebrates 100 years and 56% increase in supply in Portugal in 3 years
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines is celebrating its 100th anniversary as well as a 23% increase in customers in 2018 and a 56% increase in supply since 2016, when it opened the route between Porto and its Amsterdam-Schiphol hub (May 2017), complementing the existing one from Lisbon.
“Inspired by the same pioneering and entrepreneurial spirit that guided KLM's founding, we look forward to optimistically address the sustainability and innovation challenges facing our industry,” said Boris Darceaux, Managing Director of Air France-KLM for Portugal and Spain.
KLM reaffirms its commitment and ambition to be the most innovative, efficient and customer-centric European network company. In this context, Air France-KLM has just ranked first in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index's air transport category and is the fifteenth consecutive year in which the group ranks first in this category. KLM is also a pioneer in digital solutions to facilitate travel for its customers, being one of the first companies to launch biometrics at airports or use social media as a way to provide better service.
