A passionate Dutch hotelier, Rob Hornman secured his first General Manager position in Jakarta at age 28. His career has since led him from Europe to Asia, and most recently to Africa.
In 2014 Rob founded Ignition-Hospitality, a boutique advisory firm that undertakes various advisory and board mandates for Hotel owners; Hotel groups; Investment firms and Hospitality technology providers. Geographical areas of focus are Africa and Europe.
From 2008 till 2014, Rob was CEO and Managing Director at Worldhotels, an exclusive collection of unique independent hotels, which represents almost 500 affiliates in 65 countries worldwide. Worldhotels is part of the IHS Group (then including: Trust International, Worldhotels, Nexus and IFH).
In 2013 Rob was successfully leading the sale process of the IHS group on behalf of Kings Park Capital London. IHS was sold to Battery Ventures, Boston.
Prior to joining Worldhotels, Hornman held various management positions at Accor – including Vice President Sales & Marketing – Asia; Vice President Global Sales and Business Development at the group’s head office in Paris; and as Vice President Operations Sofitel for Germany, Central Europe and Eastern Countries.
Rob was member of the International Advisory Board at Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne and is currently active as Founder and Partner of Talisman-Solutions, Chairman and Co-founder of 'The Hotel Agency', and member of the supervisory board of Azalai Hotels.
